Da Vinci: Materials & Methods
Da Vinci: Materials & Methods
Saturday 10th August, 2 - 4 pm, Inverness Creative Academy
£30 inc. materials and refreshments
Technology, consciousness and an ever shrinking universe means humanity is moving at a pace that, depending on one’s view, is either exciting or terrifying. I like to see it as heading toward a New Renaissance. So it seems a good time to reflect on methods and tools used in 15th Century Europe. This workshop is a very brief introduction to the media that Da Vinci may have used. And because they look good together, we will also take a short look at Sacred Geometry. Of course, the big question is, had AI been around during Leonardo’s time, do you think he would have used it?

A Steiner Approach to Children’s Art
Saturday 31st August, 2 - 4 pm, Inverness Creative Academy
£30 inc. materials and refreshments
In a world full of plastic things and sparkly stuff, step back a little and indulge your senses in the type of art supplies your great grandparents enjoyed. Drawing on techniques used in Steiner and Montessori education, this workshop looks at the methods and materials used in their kindergarten settings. NB as this is a discovery session it is for adults only, but you are encouraged to let your inner child play freely for an afternoon. There will be a few samples to take away, and attendees will be entered into a draw to win a set of natural art materials including beeswax crayons, and paint made with natural pigments.
