Urquhart Bay - digital download

£8.33
Only 10 available

This is a digital version of my watercolour painting, Urquhart Bay. The painting was based on a photograph taken from my daughter's nursery which overlooked Loch Ness. It was painted on old North Sea oil charts rescued from a book that was being held together by bits of tape and staples. There often seemed to be yacht moored in the Bay although I never saw it leave or arrive. I painted this in my studio in Inverness using many different Daniel Smith and Winsor & Newton blues and turquoises to build up the colour, along with layers of tissue paper to create texture. It is very vibrant and has loads of textural interest.

Urquhart Bay sits near Drumnadrochit about half way up Loch Ness. It is also the site of the world famous Urquhart Castle, one of the most popular visitor attractions in Scotland. My daughter's middle name just happens to be Urquhart!

There are two downloads included in this purchase:

- RGB format for your screen or a digital frame; you may also use as wallpaper on your phone, laptop, etc.

- CMYK format for printing up to A4 or US letter size or slightly larger

It is a slightly whimsical and quirky piece that will look lovely in an off white mount in a simple black or white frame and place in a kitchen, study, hallway, or children's room or nursery.

PS If you're wondering, 'Urquhart' is pretty much pronounced the same as 'haircut'!
